What is on Your Agenda?
“Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.” – John Lennon

We attract into our lives that which we think about all day. Are our thoughts working for us or against us?

I have given many talks and classes on "Designing a Life" with a focus on healing by energy and consciousness. (Energy might be considered the unseen part of what comprises who we really are, e.g. Einstein’s “Unified Field.”)

The first thing I would do in a new class was to make a circle with the chairs. I then asked if anyone was in pain and wanted to be healed then and there. Someone would always volunteer. I would put that person in a chair in the center of our circle. I explained that in reality, healing is merely a change in thought; a moment of realization; an instant of pure consciousness where the story of pain we have been carrying was permitted to be replaced by the truth of our inner light and spiritual perfection.

I explained that a miracle is simply the process of letting go of fear. Then I would place my hands on the volunteer and ask the class to participate by focusing a healing intention. Invariably, the person’s pain would leave quickly. I started every class with a healing and followed up with a deeply spiritual message and yet none of the groups lasted. My dream was eluding me. Wouldn’t you think a class that began every single time with a miracle would be packed?

Perhaps they had been so bombarded with Hollywood representations or everyday ego-based logic that the beauty of man’s oneness with all Life represented before them was of no more importance than a parlor trick. That would really be missing the point. I was demonstrating the Power within each of us—our beautiful light and the infinite possibilities we all possess.

I wondered for years how I was meant to follow my dream as a teacher, writer and healer. As I learned to give up the need for an agenda, I started noticing that every day, one way or another, I was being called upon to write, teach, counsel and heal. If, as I have always believed, a healing is merely a change of consciousness, then wasn’t each encounter an opportunity to bring health, happiness and wisdom? Meanwhile, my financial needs have always been met in ways I never planned or dreamed.

Believing in miracles makes them possible. We all have miracles happening daily. Really, think about it, isn't Life itself a miracle?

I have learned to accept life's experiences as my miracles rather than dismissing them as mere coincidences or excuses for not having it all at once and in the faces of a group of "students". Perhaps the people in classes were looking to be entertained, or didn't understand Jesus' quote: "The works that I do shall ye do also."

I am beginning to realize that I am creating, witnessing and experiencing miracles daily (as does anyone who chooses to have an awareness of them.) I have since released the need for a format. This has been rewarding. I laughed when I realized... I had long been living my dream while awaiting a specific form or venue for it to appear! Perhaps you’d like to take a look at your life to see if this is true for you as well.

You can touch a soul, embrace someone who needs love, see the Power within each and everyone you meet and you will realize that you are creating miracles. Then, take these principles, apply them to your dreams and heart’s calling and you will realize that you ARE living your dreams!
