I have found many people find difficulty in finding the right foal for sale. The reason behind this difficulty lies in the problems occurred during the assessment of baby horses in their initial stages. As these baby horses look cute, people find themselves unable to predict their growth and progress over the period of time. This article is all about a perfect assessment of a foal that will help you in buying the most perfect horse for you.
While choosing a foal for sale, there are numerous things that should be taken into consideration. If you will know these points, you will definitely be at a better position in assessing a foal. There are specific points in which a foal tends to look its best, and if you are able to see it during that time, you will get a better idea of what it will look like.
According to experts, the first best time is when he is 2-3 weeks old. At this stage the foal has outgrown most of its natural crookedness it may have had at birth, and has gained enough muscles and stuff to cover its bones. While you may find foal in a bit unbalanced position, typically by this time most foals are reasonably level from back to back. They gained adequate sense of balance while moving and you can easily view their gaits.

Next such time comes when the foal is of 2-3 months old. At this time, most of the foals are in the process of shedding their foal coats so they may appear a little motley at this time. While choosing a foal for sale, always remember that there are fewer opportunities after these times to check on its level. However, there are certain points that can easily tell you about the growth of the foal. Once they have straightened out, most foals will have the leg conformation they will grow up with. Unless trimmed correctively, or surgically corrected, most conformational flaws will not be grown out of. The foal's shoulder angle will stay more or less as it is, as will the neck to shoulder connection. While adding muscle can improve a weak connection, the bone structure remains the same. Likewise, a foal with weakly built hindquarters will not likely change the overall structure of the hind end. Muscle can be built up with time, but the bones remain aligned as they are.
