No matter what your fitness goals for 2011 and beyond are, burning fat is almost certainly part of your main plan. Burning fat helps you look better and live healthier. Losing fat and keeping it off is not an easy task for most people, and your ability to do so depends on alot of factors that you can't control as well as many you can. If you want to burn fat, you need a comprehensive plan that covers every aspect from diet, to excercise strategies as well as proper supplementation. I have spent alot of time studying and testing different fat loss techniques so I have created a KILLER blueprint to fat loss!

Before I give you the plan there are some things you need to know about fat loss and excercise. Physicians divide people into 3 distinct body types and knowing which you fall under will help you figure out how to lose fat best. The first type is Ectomorph - If you are naturally skinny and have a fast metabolism you are an Ectomorph. Ectos do not have much trouble losing and keeping fat off, but can sometimes find it harder to gain mass if that is their goal. Endomorphs are the opposite, they gain fat easily and have a hard time losing it. They also may find it easier to gain mass but can be prone to gaining more fat in the process. Finally the last type is the Mesomorph. Mesos are the ideal type for weightlifters, they gain lean mass easily and can keep it without much effort. They can typically achieve the same fitness goals as other types with considerably less effort.

Knowing your body type will help you gauge just how intense your fat loss regimen must be. For example, an endomorph has a much harder time losing fat so must engage in a more intesne regimen than an ectomorph. Discovering your body type is not an exact science, just an educated guess based on your knowledge of your own body.

The first and most important part of a fat loss regimen is your diet. Your choices in the kitchen will make or break your fat burning quest. If you plan your diet well and follow it strictly, you will see the best results you can and be satisfied. If you do not plan and stick to a proper diet, your results will be dismal no matter how hard you work.

We are focusing on fat loss in this blueprint so that is what our diet will be geared toward. First, we must figure out using this calculator how many calories you burn a day. Once you have that figured out, understand that in order to burn fat we will need to be on a caloric deficit. This means taking in less calories than you burn. The extra calories that are burned will be in the form of extra fat. Eating the right amount of calories is the key to your diet, but not all of it.

While you are eating less calories than you burn, you must avoid as much trans fats as possible. Eating lean meats and healthy fruits and vegetables is very important. Avoiding fats completley is tough to do, and some fats are needed in order to keep a healthy balance. However, if you wanna lose fat you must avoid trans fats like the devil, and keep the grams of fat you consume to a minimum. Even if you are not trying to gain muscle mass, protein shakes are still great ways to get alot of protein without taking in much calories.

Excercising properly is another major key to successfully burning fat. If you are a guy trying to gain muscle I am sure lifting weights is already a part of your routine. However, many women and people who don't want to get huge will forgo the weightlifting, which is a huge mistake. Lifting weights is a very good cardiovascular excercise, and contrary to what many think it will not make your muscles huge ove
ight. Instead, it will provide an additional means of cardio excercise and help you tone your muscles so that they look good after you shed the fat. The bottom line is: no matter who you are if you are serious about burning fat, you must include at least some weight lifting sessions in your excercise regimen. Make sure you use caution and lift with the proper form, to avoid injuring yourself. You certainly don't have to go heavy if you don't want to, just the movement will be good excercise.

Lifting weights is a great start to an excercise regimen, but if you really want to burn fat it will not be enough. You must add an intense cardio workout such as running, elliptical or biking to achieve your goals. Doing one of these excercises for 30 minutes or even more at medium intensity is a great way to implement this, however, there is an even better strategy if you truly want to maximize your results. This strategy is called High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and it is the most effective way to burn calories. An example of HIIT excercise would be jogging for 4 minutes, then sprinting all out for 1 minute before returning to a jog and repeating the process many times.

The key is the moderate excercise in the jog and the intense minute of sprinting. You can do many variations of this with any excercise but the key is to do moderate effort for a few minutes followed by a minute of going all out, then repeat the process many times. If you mix in 3-5 cardio sessions a week with 3-4 weight lifting sessions you will be burning calories and fat like nobodys business. I encourage you to experiment with many different types of cardio including swimming and sports to find what works best for you. This is by far the most important part of fat loss and should be continued even after you are satisfied with your weight.

One very important aspect of burning fat that can really help you if done right is supplementation. Most people screw this up because they just go buy some random diet pills or the big workout supplement of the month. In order to feel benefits of supplementation you must use the right ones. Whatever you do, stay away from fat burning pills. The first few basic excercise supplements can be found at a grocery store. These are Multivitamins and fish oil capsules. Fish oil helps muscle recovery and overall health, and the multivitamin gives your body the nutrients it needs to function better.

It will take dedication to stick to your weight loss goals. However if you succeed, it is hard to even describe how awesome the feeling is. It is truly a blessing to look in the mirror and be satisfied with yourself.
