A primary reason these kinds of videos are available is because there is no law or sponsorship required that would prevent people from uploading them.

There are no major corporations determining what should or should not be viewed on the Internet. For example, it is not likely that you will see a TV news story about how a large seed manufacturer is genetically altering some of its seeds, and how this process is having a bad effect on a certain insect population. That particular company might pay to advertise on that particular TV station. They obviously want to continue the revenue stream they receive from the advertising. But in reality, accessing videos for information is only a small sliver of the whole piece of the pie when it comes to the web.

If you want to find out something, go online and search for it. You can find out about almost anything imaginable. Because there is so much information, it can be a challenge to look at everything and digest it properly. It is not even possible to believe everything you see online, which is why users look for multiple sources to prove something is indeed true. No matter how you access the Internet, you can look up info and do research on just about any topic under the sun that you want to learn more about.
