Through all of the hustle and bustle of modern family day life, and especially if autism is part of your family dynamic, it pays to be reminded that we Mommy and Daddy Warriors need to remember to take care of ourselves along the way too. I was honored to interview self-help expert, David Riklan, several months ago, and decided that what he had to say was so important that I would run that episode again.

The episode titled "Becoming All That You Can Be", originally aired on April 6th, but through the wonders of modern technology, I will be replaying this episode once again on August 24th, so that you can be reminded of that little 'ole thing called "your needs".

Let's face it. At the end of a long day of cooking gluten-free fare, playing pharmacologist with daily supplements and medications, morphing inappropriate behaviors into appropriate ones, struggling through homework assistance and running children between extracurricular activities, doctor's appointments and therapy sessions.....it's pretty hard to sit back and think about what our needs might be.

I'm assuming it might be the same for you too. But as they say in the airline industry, if you don't "put the oxygen mask on yourself first"......well, then, there might not be much left for you to give to your special kids, huh?
So, do yourself and your family a favor. Mark your calendar right now to listen in on how you can learn to tap back into your long-lost dreams, your forgotten ambitions and your personal goals from long ago. This show will be rebroadcast on August 24th at 8am Pacific/ 10am Central. Tune in now to hear how you still have time to "become all you can be".
