Red Devils and Citizens continue with a perfect record in first and second place respectively, meanwhile the Blues want to get on the fight for the title too, and have placed themselves just 2 points behind.
Unstoppable is a good word to describe the pace with which the teams from Manchester, United and City, have began the 2011/12 English Premier League season. Four victories in four games, where both have only suffered three goals against, and scored 18 and 15 goals respectively, it is obvious that they are one step above the rest.
On Saturday Manchester United visited Bolton with Rooney on fire after scoring a treble against Arsenal on the 8-2 victory at home on round 3. The Red Devils didn’t want any setbacks against the Trotters, and they putted themselves ahead in score very early in the game. 25 minutes were going to be enough for Chicharito to score his first goal of the season, and for Rooney to add two more, which left Bolton against the ropes down by 3 in the first half.
More of Chicharito and Rooney was going to come in the second half with one goal each, which gave the Red Devils the definite 5-0 lead with which they won the game. Up next they will face one of the toughest rivals of the season when they play Chelsea at home on Sunday, in the most appealing game of round 5.
Speaking about Chelsea they also won on the road, it was 1-2 against Sunderland on Saturday. Terry and Sturridge scored the goals for the Blues that march in third place with 10 points, two less than leaders Manchester United. The discount from the Black Cats came in injury time through Dong-Won Ji, who couldn’t prevent their second loss of the season.
Aguero arrived to Manchester City as the star signing of the season in exchange for € 42 million, and after four games he was fulfilled the expectations. On Saturday at the Etihad Stadium he gave his best exhibition so far, scoring a hat-trick against Wigan Athletic in the 3-0 victory.
Along with his teammate Dzeko, who also has six goals in the season, Aguero is the second best scorer of the Premier League, only two goals away from No.
1 Rooney.
Arsenal recovered from the resounding 8-2 lost against Manchester United with a 1-0 victory at home, against Swansea City. Arshavin scored the goal that gave the Gunners their first victory of the season.
Liverpool was upset on the road by Stoke City through a penalty scored by Walters, which was sufficient to defeat the Reds and continue unbeaten in the season.
The rest of round 4 was completed by: Queen Parks Rangers 0 - Newcastle 0, Fulham 1 - Blackbu
Rovers 1, Norwich City 0 - West Bromwich 1, Wolverhampton 0 - Tottenham 2, and Everton 2 - Aston Villa 2.
This week the UEFA Champions League kicks off with Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal as the English representatives, competition that out of the four only the Red Devils have won.
