Arthritis in Dogs Can Be Treated

Arthritis is a form of disorder that affects the joints and it emanates as pain in the joints. Arthritis in dogs is a common problem that can affect the pet and according to a survey one in five adult dogs in US are affected by Arthritis. The dog immune system is very sensitive. It is not easy to identify any disease in a dog, but keen observation of its behavior can point towards the problem. Some of the common points to be observed are, the dog will not use all its limbs equally, you can observe the difficulty the dog shows in standing and sitting. Observe if the dog is sleeping more and dog hesitating to climb steps, running and walking are also some of the features that can be observed. When a dog has arthritis, it will not be interested in playing, there will be weight gain which is evident and change in behavior of dogs can also be observed. If the dog shows any of the above symptoms, it is time to consult a vet to get it evaluated. A physical examination by the vet and X-ray as required is the methods used to identify the disease. Treatment will be in the direction of reducing the pain and holding any further progress of the disease. The first and foremost will be to control weight and put the dog under some exercise regime. Drugs are also given to dogs to reduce pain. The Dogs Immune System should be good to enable them to withstand infections. Food containing Omega Fatty Acids, Glucosamine and chondrotin will also help in reducing the pain in dog and giving some relief to the canine. Dogs can also face experience pain in their joints, resulting d arthritis. They need care, medication and therapy to help them bear with the pain. They need attention of a veterinarian and they should never be given drugs that human beings use.
