When it comes to article marketing research, the large majority of people don’t do their homework before they start writing. This fact is either sad or fortunate, depending on how you look at it, but the truth is that doing a little legwork beforehand will go a long way toward your efforts of making your organic traffic campaign a success. Let’s take a look at 5 easy ways to boost your article’s success before you even start writing: 1. Pick low competition keywords Obviously, you should center your article campaign around words in your niche that have as little competition as possible. Many people are choosing long-tail keywords as a solution to this issue. There is a variety of free keyword tracking tools available online to help you do this. 2. Research what your target readers are reading Once you’ve identified your keywords, take some time to look through some of the article directories to get a feel for the type of articles your target readers are snapping up. If you click on any given article on a site such as Ezine or Article Base and scroll to the bottom, you’ll see a list of both the most viewed and most published articles. This will give you a feel for not only the type of information your readers are looking for and the titles that catch their attention, but it will also help you generate ideas and unique twists that you can do with your own articles as well. 3. Identify problem-solution sets People don’t get on the Internet looking to buy products, they get on to look for solutions or information that will help them solve problems. When writing your articles, focus on providing that information or solution, and let the product sell itself as a natural extension of that answer. 4. Use a little human psychology People have gold-fish attention spans. Keep your article short and sweet; hit on the main points and hopefully, leave them wanting more information. Use catchy titles. Summarize your article in the intro paragraph. Be humorous, creative, and original. 5. Find a way to be unique Too often, web content is simply stolen from elsewhere and regurgitated. If you’ve done your article marketing research well, by the time you start writing, you’ll have a good idea of what NOT to say so as to avoid adding yourself to the line of bobbleheads. Add new information, expand on what’s readily available, and do it in your own voice. If you are less than confident in your ability to do the research beforehand, hire a quality outsource company to help. Otherwise, arm yourself with these effective article writing strategies and hop on the organic marketing campaign train without further delay!
