One of the top government medical colleges in India, Assam Medical College is the first and oldest medical college of North-Easte
India. The medical college since its inception has produced more than 7536 medical graduates as well as 2758 specialists. The first batch of 12 medical students was graduated in 1952 under the Guwahati University. The medical college was approved by the Indian Medical Council in 1952 and the postgraduate medical courses were introduced in the year 1960.

Eligibility Criteriar
Candidates seeking MBBS Admission in one of the best medical colleges in India i.e. Assam Medical College Dibrugarh must have
• Completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of MBBS admission.
• Passed HSC examination (Academic Stream of 10+2 curriculum) of any State/CBSE/ISC or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto, with the group of subjects like - English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology (or Botany & Zoology) / Biotechnology and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology at the qualifying Entrance Exam. In respect of the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (NCL), the minimum marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the qualifying examination shall be 40% marks for Unreserved and General-EWS Candidates. In respect of PwD candidates, the minimum marks in the qualifying examination in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Botany & Zoology)/Biotechnology taken together shall be 45% instead.
