Obviously, you would have a hard time lifting heavier weight with dumbbells due to their design. They do, however, provide a longer range of motion, which can impact the body in many ways. While better for definition than mass, dumbbells can definitely change your physique. Kettlebells are enormously popular and for good reason. They impact every muscle in the body and do so in a manner that is a radical departure from traditional weight training. The weight is swung as opposed to lifted and this engages the body in a completely different manner. The end result would still be a muscular and defined physique and it would also be one with enhanced muscular endurance and physical strength. Kettlebell workouts are frequently practiced by professional athletes to boost performance. Consider that a solid recommendation for working out with them as well.
