Understanding the structure of the teeth can be very difficult, since the teeth have different parts that play unique roles. A lot of problems can develop within a tooth, and these problems can be hard to understand without the guidance of a dentist. Many dental experts in Atlanta believe that it is important for people to understand the condition of their teeth, to prevent infections from occurring. The teeth may suffer from different dental conditions caused by the lack of dental care. Pulpitis is just one of the many dental issues encountered by many unknowing people. Pulpitis is described as the pathological condition of the teeth that involves the inflammation of the dental pulp. This occurs when plaque formation on the teeth’s surface manages to penetrate the dentin and enamel of the tooth. In some cases, pulpitis can also be caused by trauma. The symptoms of pulpitis are often the same with other tooth conditions, which is why it can be difficult to detect. A person suffering from the condition experiences pain in the tooth during consumption of hot, cold, and sweet liquids. Tooth discoloration also occurs once the condition reaches a severe stage. Pulpitis is often classified into two types: reversible and irreversible. Reversible pulpitis is said to be a milder inflammation of the pulp that actively responds to its irritants. On the other hand, irreversible pulpitis is a severe inflammation that is difficult to treat and may require frequent visits to a dentist Buckhead. Treatment for pulpitis may require patients to find a professional dentist Buckhead that specializes in treating such conditions. Treatments differ according to the type and severity of pulpitis. Some dentists believe that drilling and application of composite fillings work well for reversible pulpitis. However, patients suffering from irreversible pulpitis may have to endure root canal therapy or extraction, depending on the infection. Seeking professional help should be the priority of any patient suffering from pulpitis, as the condition can lead to more serious health problems when untreated, including meningitis, brain abscess, cellulitis, and cavernous sinus thrombosis. To prevent pulpitis from occurring, patients are recommended to practice good oral hygiene at all costs and seek help from a dentist in Atlanta that specializes in preventive dentistry.
