The “land down under” – that’s what people say about Australia. And for most of the people, that’s what Australia actually is – situated on the other side of the globe, seems to be totally separate, lonely island. This land is full of nature and wild animals – there are two times more kangaroos than the people, and you can meet Coala bear almost everywhere.rnAs you probably know, to go to Australia you will need a visa. ETA Australia is an Electronic Travel Authorization, which allows you for tourist or business trip. If you want to stay in Australia for work or, for example, for the rest of your life, you will of course need a regular visa, which you can get at the embassy. But when you travel to this wild and sunburnt country for a touristic reason, you will need e-visa. E-visa is also an obligation for citizens of these countries, who are eligible for an electronic visa.rnThe capital of Australia is Canberra - not Sydney, and not Melbourne; Canberra is situated between these two cities, cause Australian could not choose a place where they could make a capital. rnAustralia has a lot to explore; in addition to beautiful landscapes, it has also extraordinary mineral recourses. In the middle of the Australian desert, the most expensive and precious gems were found. Opals are mined underground, and just in this desert, the most valuable and the largest opals are sourced. There is only one obstacle - the temperature is so high there, that living in this place is possible only when… you live underground. In Coober Pedy, as the city is called, people live in houses, that are located under the surface of the earth. The city has all the infrastructure, which is needed to live - from pubs to the church. rnAustralia is also well known for wine production. Everybody knows Australian shiraz - but Australian wine industry has much, much more to offer. This world’s fourth wine exporter produces 700 million liters of wine per year. Right now, Australian wine became very popular abroad, but this process started in the 90’s - not before. Why Australian wines are so popular? The huge area of wine plantations let the winemakers try and mix different types of wines. The climate also supports the farmers to search for new flavors and taste nuances in wines - the summers are mild and long enough for letting the wine grow until thy will achieve the balance in taste. Now, people go to Australia especially for wine tasting. The best time for this kind of trip is December and January. If you are lucky you can enjoy one of the wine festivals, which there is a lot around Australia in this period. rnAustralia is a dream for many travelers and those who want to run away from life for a while. This sunny land with beautiful nature has a very interesting history and culture. A lot of fruit farms and friendly people let the student find a job easily, and for the tourist, Australia can offer many attractions- from all-day surfing to wine- tasting and climbing.
