Ayurveda and Natural Health rnAyurveda is the most ancient and comprehensive medical system in the world. We know from our history that Ayurveda began with the Vedic Civilization some four thousand years ago and that this tradition has been one of the only ones to remain in its original form. The ancient texts survived through this long period of time and now we can benefit from their comprehensive understanding of the human being: mind, body and spirit. Ayurveda goes to the core of who the individual is and treats according to a persons uniqueness and determines treatment based on that individuality. A persons’ individuality is based on what percentage of the elements are contained within the individual. When these are determined the next step is to make recommendations on nutrition and diet, which herbs or combination of herbs would be better for this person, which spices would be recommended for this person to add them to their foods, which natural oils to apply to the body and with what frequency. Ayurveda gives a very complete look at how to align with nature and its recommendations are truly timeless and more importantly: THEY WORK! We need to complement this remarkable tradition with all of the powerful contributions to health that have come to us from modern and western medicine. In fact, we should not be afraid to look into other cultural systems of healing and derive from them any benefit that we can find for our health. In Ayurveda, simply understanding the science of breathing and the power of consciousness can bring tremendous changes in how we view our lives and how we can live healthier lives. Other recommendations from Ayurveda involve the proper times for everything in your lifestyle and how to increase your body’s capacity to digest. This ability or as it is called in Ayurveda Agni helps you tremendously by giving your body its best potential in absorption and digestion of food. Furthermore, simple tips like drinking plenty of water a day (at least two liters) can bring an enhancement into your health as you are allowing your system to be able to flush out toxins and waste that your body needs to dispose of properly according to nature. Other tips may also include how to meditate and how to keep healthy in terms of your thought patterns or in terms of your mind. Here Ayurveda looks at the importance of consciousness or the power of attention for a healthier possibility in terms of all of your mental patters. Ayurveda also looks at how to heal from the physical part of the body and recommends and complements perfectly with the practice of Yoga. Ayurveda looks to Yoga and in specific certain poses to treat imbalances in the body and to promote a healthier life. Ayurveda also teaches you about the power of natural herbs. We learn how we can heal through the use of herbs that occur in nature and that are readily available to us at reasonable prices. The use of herbal formula and specific combination of herbs to treat particular ailments and the uniqueness of each person is a very powerful way to heal. This method contains minimal side effects and can bring an enormous potential for health in your present health and for your future health. So start learning Ayurveda today you will thank yourself tomorrow and in the latter years of your life 
