Detoxification procedures are required to remove the root cause. Snehana is done with medicated ghee or sesame oil. Mild sweating is induced three days after the Snehana procedure. If the patient has a cold, swelling, oozing, and itching, Vamana or medicated vomiting is useful. After that Mridu virechana or medicated laxatives are given. This procedure is done for burning sensation, fever; irritability, pus formation, etc. After detoxification procedures, Lepa or applying a paste of herbal powder is done. Parisekha or cleaning with an herbal decoction is repeated often This is followed by Udvarthana or rubbing with herbal powder. Where large areas of the body are affected, Avagha or sitting in a big vessel filled with herbal decoction for a specified time is useful Dhupana (Medicated fumigation) with different herbs is also effective.
