Back pain statistics are frightening. At this very moment half of you reading this are suffering from back pain. And over 90% of you will suffer from back pain at some stage. Your back pain will stop you from working, it will stop your enjoyment of your leisure time with your family and friends.n

Yet you search the internet for that miracle cure. You know the one, the one that promises to rid you of your back pain in seconds. That everyone succeeds and you feel better in no time at all. Yes the 101,000 sites that tell you that you can trust them, after all why would they lie?n

nSo who can you trust? Is there one site or one technique that works well for everyone? Who should you believe and who should you mistrust?n

And there lies the problem, anyone can set up a site and sell you a product for back pain relief. So you need to know some facts first to help you understand what to look for and what to look out for.n

nBack Pain Fact #1n

There is an 80-20 rule in health care. What it states is – 80 percent of people will get better no matter what you do. Why?n

Your body is designed to heal – fact! Just like a cut hand. So if you get someone to do a particular exercise, use a product or anything at all, 80% of the people using it will improve. Because they were going to improve anyway.n

The remainder (the 20%) won’t. They struggle to improve, may get some relief, but these are the people that ask for the internet site owners dreaded “money back guarantee”. And most won’t even ask, depending on what it cost and how much hassle fear there is.n

And this is nothing to do with back pain. This applies to all health care.n

nBack Pain Fact #2n

Unless you address the entire problem, you are going to deal with the 80-20 rule. What this means is this…n

Back pain is a result of muscle and joint imbalance – fact. So from a structural point of view you need to address both of these factors. Otherwise, 20% of people won’t get better because they are the 20 from the 80-20 rule.n

The 80 people from the 80-20 rule will get better… but!!n

Your back pain will return at some stage. Why? The problems still remain. But don’t worry you can buy another product and still fit the 80-20 rule. Until one day you fit the 20 of the 80-20 rule. Then you need real help.n

nBack Pain Fact #3n

Unless you deal with the underlying problems, you will eventually become part of the 20% that fail to respond.n

And what are the underlying factors?n

Your day to day stress levels, your general health levels, your postural stresses at work, and your fitness levels. All these set you up to have back pain at some stage. This is why over 90% of adults suffer from back pain at some stage in your life.n

Life is stressful for most, so back pain occurs at some stage. So you need to work on these areas to help maintain a good level of resistance to back pain (and as a by-product, your general health improves also).n

nBack Pain Fact #4n

Who can you trust to help you in your time of need? Sounds dramatic doesn’t it. In reality you trust who you trust.n

Read through each of the sites you visit, contact the owner and ask questions about your problems, ask questions about their product and look at their guarantees.n

There is a little know test called the “Sugar Test”, and it helps you determine who you can trust and who is there for your benefit not theirs. Basically it says this…n

A person you can trust is someone who gives you their time free. Time to ask questions and be heard. Time to get answers to your questions without hype or hard sell. Advice on who to see if they can’t help and someone who can relieve any fears you may have.n

nSo my advice is this…n

When you have back pain, ask questions. Contact the site and see if you get a reply. If so then you have got past most sites that are less trustworthy. Sure if sites are busy your reply may more than a few minutes or even a few days, but a reply should be given. Then look at the product and does it cover all your back pain issues.n

If so then you have found a good site to deal with and a good product to try. But if you do not get relief, contact them and ask for advice or direction. A good practitioner and a good site will always try their best to help you as much as they can.
