Balqon Corporation Introduces All Electric Shuttle Bus BLQN.BB - OTC.BB

HARBOR CITY, Calif. — April 24, 2012—Balqon Corporation (OTCBB: BLQN), a developer of electric drive system technologies for commercial electric vehicles, today announced the successful development of a battery powered all electric 14 passenger electric Shuttle Bus, that incorporates Balqon electric drive system, lithium battery system and charging system into an E-450 chassis. This new vehicle also incorporates fast charging system using Balqon EQON proprietary fast charger that can charge the vehicle in less than one hour from 80% depth of discharge.

Balqon Corporation Zero Emission EQ0 14 built on E-450 chassis is designed to transport 14 passengers in a defined route shuttle operation such as Airports, Universities, Hotels and military bases. The EQO14 incorporates Balqon Corporation's proprietary electric vehicle drive system, which encompasses complete power management, propulsion, and power conversation systems and includes drive trains and energy systems (i.e., lithium batteries and a charging system).

The EQO 14 passenger electric shuttle bus can carry up to 14 passengers, with a range of 80 miles on a single charge, with ability to fully charge the vehicle in less than one hour. The vehicle also demonstrates below 69 db in noise level and incorporates the latest idle-shut off technologies that increase energy conservation during vehicle idling. The new vehicle incorporates Balqon Corporation's proprietary lithium battery management system, Quick-Shift 300 volt AC Drive technology, automatic transmission and fast charging system.
