Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand has the following symbiotic associated with it when you land in the city for the first time- The bustle of the local markets, nightlife which borders on being mischievous, upscale hypermarkets and thumping nightclubs. Though there is a very rich legacy associated with it’s cultural overtones, this article talks about the adrenaline you can rush after the sun sets. With a huge rise in the number of flights to bangkok, the visitor base has seen a massive upswing year after year which has led to an even greater rise in the number of nightclubs and restro-bars in the city.

The Paragon multiplex, right in the heart of the city bears testimony to everything Bangkok stands for: crowds, enormity, largesse, and consumerism. A hybrid of multiplex, stores, eating joints and general stores, Paragon also has a humongous Ocean World which is home to many rare water-borne species. The Water Show held daily at the Ocean draws gasps and raptures from the awe-inspired audiences lining up for a peek.

Under the lights is followed the gruesome, yet, adrenaline pumping sport of Thai Boxing, natively known as Muaythai. The Lumpinee stadium in Bangkok, hosts such duels every night and they draw in significant crowds which cheer and hoot the contestants. Mind you, these duels are only for the strong-hearted and people prone to seizures and high blood pressures should avoid watching them.

For the ones who are not afraid of heights, we have the spectacular Sky Bar which stands atop the 63rd floor in The Dome, Bangkok. Our team of travel junkies tell us that this is by far the most dazzling rooftop bar they have ever been to and the romanticism that the Sky Bar invokes in you can only be felt once you are there, for no words do justice to the endearing hypnotic touch you get while there. The exquisite assortment of liquors in the bar and the views make up for the high cover charges for the Sky and has become a definite inclusion in all the tourist itineraries we shape.

All in all, the nightlife of Bangkok has all the cogs of the wheel in place. Some other attractions like the Calypso Cabaret where you find transgenders living it up (be very polite with them, they are one of the most respected communities in the country) and the Black Swan turn it on it’s head. A 500 word article becomes too small to talk about the rest of the attractions hence we would churn out sequels to this piece talking about the rest of the attractions. In the meanwhile please make sure that these places find a mention in your “to-do” list before you board one of the many flights to Bangkok.
