When you like to watch or play a game, it is very important that we actually know the basic rules and regulations of it. Only when you know the game well, you will be able to enjoy it thoroughly without anyone’s help or guidance. Now here is a simple introduction of the basic rules of Basketball for beginners. As far as basketball is concerned, there are 6 different fundamental skills that are necessary for anyone to play it. Dribbling, Passing, Shooting, Rebounding, Offence and defense are the 6 key skills and here is a short summary of each expertise.

Dribbling is the way of keeping the ball with the player when there is no option for the player to pass the ball. Dribbling is done to move around the ball in order to confuse the opponent and it is said to be one of the key skills in Basketball. The common mistake a lot of players make at the beginning stage would be dribbling the ball when it is not necessary to do so. You can ask about the tricks and tips for effective dribbling from a professional player or a trainer. One thing that you will have to remember always while dribbling the ball is that that defense will constantly have a better possibility for a steal if you dribble it without keeping it in your grip hands, however strong you are at dribbling the ball.

Next important skill that a player needs to develop for playing the game effectively is passing. Passing the ball is the first moving option to safeguard the ball from the opponent stealing it from your grip. Passing the ball is easier and effective that dribbling the ball and keeping it with you for a longer time will lead to attraction of many opponent players. When a team is strong in their passing tricks, generally they are regarded as one of the best teams with good team spirit which is the key to success in such team games.

Shooting the ball at the right time exactly into the basket means a brownie point to your team every time the ball reaches your hand. A good shooter is a person who makes sure to shoot a goal consistently. The common mistake that a lot of practiced or armature players do while practicing and playing is using their arms instead of jumping to give the power. Learning to shoot the ball at the right way will make a lot of different to the players’ output.

Rebounding can come out in two different forms namely offensive and defensive. Rebounding is not just big man’s area but exceeds the jumping ability. This skill is totally about the ability to pose you and study the shot from the opponent. Rebounding is a skill that can come only with practice and speed.
Offense will include shooting and supporting your team with the help of tricks like screens. Defense is seen as the key to victory, with effective stealing and blocks.
