Pakistani dresses have their own charm and style. Pakistani dresses are according to the culture and traditional values of Pakistan. The traditional dress shalwar kameez is appreciated all over the world. It comes in various styles for both men and women. Women also wear dupatta (long scarf) along with shalwar kameez. Shalwar is like loose trousers. Tight-bottomed shalwar is known as churidar . Kameez is a long shirt or tunic. Shalwar kameez looks elegant on every one as it can be made for any body type. Shalwar kameez is a dress which expresses the people of Pakistan and their religion. Pakistani clothes include: Shalwar Kameez, Sherwani, Anarkali frocks, Churidar pajama, Lehnga/sharara/gharara. Lehnga/Gharara/Sharara is mostly wore on wedding functions by Pakistani ladies. Shalwar kameez can be casual or formal depending on its look and fabric. The different fabrics used are chiffon, crepe, silk, satin, net, georgette, banarasi, jamevar and velvet. The Pakistani lawn is famous worldwide. Pakistani fashion dresses are depicted in regular fashion shows/weeks by Pakistani designers. Fashion shows i.e. Sunsilk fashion week, veet etc. telecasted live and are displayed in different channels for the promotion of Fashion. National and multinational companies organize different types of fashion shows in major cities of Pakistan i.e. Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. Fashion shows are an important source of fashion promotion and boast the fashion industry. Large collections of varieties arrive regularly in summers for Lawn and other wears and huge exhibitions are held for their promotion i.e. the collection of Gul Ahmed, Maria.B, EGO etc. Many fashion designers of Pakistan have proved themselves all over the globe for their talent and artistic mind. The most famous dress designers of Pakistan are: Deepak Perwani, Nilofer Shahid, Maheen Khan, Sana and Safinaz, Rizwan Beyg, Amir Adnan and Huma Adnan, Ronki Kamikar, Maheen Kardar, Sadia Mirza, Aijaz Aslam. Pakistani fashion industry is striving to make its identification internationally by focusing on the culture of Pakistani so that their dresses would depict the heritage of Pakistan on international ramps. The dresses show the mixture of south Asian and central Asian fashion styles along with some eastern touch. The Pakistani fashion industry has surely played a very optimistic role in building the fashion sense and fashion trends amongst all the age groups in Pakistan. Famous brands of Pakistan introduce new trends in different parts of the country. Beside this, the dressing style of every province of Pakistan is unique in some way. The embroidery on dresses varies from province to province and is usually decent especially the embroidery of the province Sindh is innovative and eye catching. Pakistani dresses are easy to wear and are very comfortable, good for any weather. Pakistani Fashion Dresses have different kind of work done on dresses i.e. thread embroideries, sequins, stones and diamantes, appliqué designs in velvet & satin and kaamdaani. The suits are stitched in various styles, as now-a-days A-line cuts and long flare styles, kaftans, capes, etc are inn. They all are finished with piping, borders and different types of linings/ribbons. Pakistani dresses add true grace to the wearer.
