The best advice I can give women is to love yourself for who and what you are. But that advice is useless if I don’t tell you why that is key and also, how to move into a place that has you saying to the world, “Love me for who I am, because I do”.rnThe ideal body images that surround us are just that, ideal. They do not represent what the very large (no pun intended!) majority of women are really like. Why should we be left feeling like we don’t measure up? The average woman is a Size 14. The skinny ones are the abnormal ones! I’m sure we’d all love to be young, thin and gorgeous but the reason that supermodels make millions of dollars is because they are very rare specimens. rnWe have to realise from a common sense point of view that it is not a standard we can live up to and just deal with it. So you’re imperfect? Well, dah! Who isn’t?! We need to embrace the things that are great about us, accept the things that are not so great and then get on with living. We need to stop holding ourselves accountable to a bar that is set at such an impossible standard. We also need to stop using our body as a shield to protect or hide ourselves. It’s time to come out of hiding and let the radiant woman within come out and play. rnUnfortunately, many women have some very big issues around body image that are really affecting their lives and keeping them from being happy and most women’s self perception is far from realistic. Most view themselves incorrectly. Women tend to be very critical of themselves. The truth is, looking good is not about perfection; it’s about feeling confident and having your own personal style. Becoming confident in the skin you’re in is the biggest hurdle. Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes and variety is the spice of life. We are real women—and real women have curves. Sexy curves. rnWhat’s needed here is a reality check. Start by recognizing your attributes and making the most of them rather than dwelling on imperfections. Before you can look good in clothes you have to be comfortable with who you are and accept that beauty cannot be boxed up into a one size fits all! Beauty is all of us. Women often hate some part of their body, they think they’re too whatever, whether it’s their butt is too big, they’re too tall, hips too wide, waist too short, tummy not flat. Focusing on the negative things robs you of your happiness, vitality and confidence. Instead, recognise your assets and choose clothes to flatter them and camouflage parts you don’t want to emphasise. Don’t neglect the things that make you feel lovely, such as painted nails, shaved legs, moisturised feet & body, a new hair cut, style or colour. Do it all in the one day and focus on feeling sensual. Let that feeling show outwardly. Practice looking at yourself and focusing on what looks good today, not what doesn’t! Your attitude towards yourself makes a huge difference. Believing in yourself will automatically send out positive signals about who you are and will instantly make you look more attractive. Confidence and personality that shines are beautiful—and very sexy. rnSurely it’s time for us to stop trying to be somebody else and get on with being our beautiful, fabulous selves.
