Being Fit is More Than Just Lifting Weights
For many people looking to get those rock hard abs and svelte physics, the gym is the first place they turn. As always, the gym seems to reach full capacity in the months leading up to summer, quietening down to a slow simmer after the ‘annual leave’ period.
However, obtaining long lasting and positive physical results involves more than just hitting the gym for hours on end and munching down on a mountain of iceberg lettuce. The 90’s notions of cutting out all forms of sugar, carbohydrates and fats will work, however their results are firstly not balanced nor are they benefiting your body in a positive way.
Anyone who follows any form of healthy or lifestyle magazine, blog or prominent person will know about the hype around ‘super foods’ and organic eating. These words have been thrown around like hotcakes in the fitness realm, with #raw and #organic hashtags on every Instagram feed. Yet there is more to this trend than just the façade and ‘trendyness’ that most London hipsters have cottoned onto.
The foods that have come to find themselves sitting comfortably in the category of ‘superfood’ hold many of the much needed health benefits that the average lunch sandwich cannot provide. Those pesky things called Anti-oxidants that every health freak finds themselves agonising over are actually very good for you. When incorporated into your diet on a daily basis, these natural compounds can aid in protecting your body against oxidation and inflammation.
Building up a strong body, filled with vitamins and minerals is a vital part of getting fit at any time of the year. Eating smart is a different thing to eating on a diet and making sure that you know the difference can take you a long way. Ensuring that what you put in will nourish and feed your body is just as important as making sure that you are training correctly.
Not all foods are created equal, so make sure that you are eating the correct foods before, after and during training.

Moving Meditation: How Precision-Based Exercise Supports Mental and Emotional Growth
Movement is one of the most honest forms of self-connection. The body never lies. It holds stress, records emotion, and reveals when something feels off.
