These days, the reputation of both Cannabidiol and Tetrahydrocannabinol has grown positive over the years. People now see them as a gift from Mother Nature. Considering the many benefits of CBD and THC, the reputation they have is well earned. However, many people are not aware of another cannabinoid that is worth their attention. The name of this cannabinoid is Cannabigerol or CBG. What is Cannabigerol? Cannabigerol is an organic compound of cannabis and hemp plants. Like CBD and THC, CBG stems from CBGA or Cannabigerolic Acid. It is a minor cannabinoid that is found only up to 1-2% of a harvested plant. Thanks to modern Science, we can now process CBG into various CBG products. How Does It Work into Our Body? CBG is processed via the body’s endocannabinoid system just like CBD and THC. However, CBG binds differently to the system when compared to THC. CBG binds to the CB2 receptors in the stomach, connective tissues, and nervous system, while THC binds to the CB1 receptors in the brain. How Does It Affect The Body? CBG is not psychotropic. Thus, it is impossible to get high when consuming CBG. Also, it is known to produce specific physiological effects. As a result, it has promising medical use. • CBG has the potential to be an alpha-2 adrenoceptor agonist, according to a 2010 study. Thus, CBG can alleviate or fight pain. In another study back in 1991, CBG is better than THC when it comes to being an analgesic. • CBG is also able to decrease intraocular pressure in cats, according to a 1990 research done by the Department of Ophthalmology at West Virginia University. This gives this cannabinoid anti-glaucoma property. • It is also effective to fight inflammation caused by inflammatory bowel diseases. • In a 2015 study, it was shown that CBG can protect neurons from nerve cell degeneration. • It also showed anti-cancer properties. It inhibits the growth of cancer cells by blocking the receptors that cause it in the first place. • Another study also states that CBG is the most effective cannabinoid when it comes to inhibiting bladder muscle contractions. Thus, CBG can prevent disorders caused by bladder dysfunctions. How to Get CBG Products? rnProducts containing CBG are not too common. It’s not too common because of the difficulty in producing it. Nonetheless there are entities and enterprises that specialize in producing CBG. A good example is CBG Mart.CBG Mart is the one-stop-shop for all things Cannabigerol. They carry a full variety of CBG products including CBG seed, CBG flower, CBG biomass, CBG crude, CBG distillate, CBG isolate, CBG gummies, and CBG joints. They also supply retailers with high-quality CBG products available.
