Online learning programs have transformed the traditional method of training by making the process less time consuming, interactive and engaging. Owing to several advantages associated with the process, more and more organizations are embracing online training programs to train their employees. Training is a routine process, which is organized in almost every organization, therefore, the content of the module should be made in such a manner that employees are able to relate to it. It must also be industry specific so that, along with the training of the employees, the overall objective of the organization is also accomplished within the estimated time period. The learning management system is equipped with all the above mentioned benefits, and has thus marked a new beginning in the training process of the employees. The learning management system is flexible in nature as the content of the program can be modified and updated as per the demands of the industries. For most of the organizations scalability is the major issue, and advent of online training programs has solved this problem as well. The training module is proportional to the growth of the organization. The LMS can be integrated with the ongoing training programs, which helps in saving the cost and resources of the organization. These training modules are equipped with number of integrated tools like skill gap analysis tools, audio & video players, graphics, and games, which gives it a vast user acceptance. Unlike traditional training method, the online training module can be accessed anytime, anywhere. An in-house employee and an employee located in any far-off location can be trained at the same time. They can exchange their ideas, suggestions and experiences, thereby, making the learning process more interactive and beneficial. Further, in LMS, the content of the training program is customized as per the needs of the individuals. Before developing the learning module, the experts of the online service providers visit the client’s organization and understand their needs. Later, the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), content developers, and instructional designers develop the training content as per the requirements of the organization. Many of the organizations such as banking and finance, retail, software and IT, and life sciences, are effectively utilizing the online training modules. In the online training module, the learning process is induced via games, social media, and mobiles, which has resulted in greater user acceptance. The whole process is transformed into an interactive learning experience, which has enhanced the scope of learning and its output. Inclusion of surveys, blogs, and discussion boards, wikis, and polls have also increased the learning output.
