For the past many centuries, people had been enjoying the benefits of green tea for the body. Many people would prefer drinking green tea than oolong, white tea and black tea, simply because of its unique flavor and distinct aroma not found in other types of tea. Nowadays, preserving the natural greenish color of tea leaves is retained just like before. This is done by preparing the green tea just like the way it was prepared before--by washing the leaves right after plucking them from the shrub, then boiling them. There have been many healthful claims saying that drinking green tea-based products help a lot in improving the general health of their body. For a long time, there has been many claims saying that green tea can help in digestion, reduces hangover effects, cures beriberi disease, promotes clotting of the blood, heals flesh wounds, and even prevents tiredness. Now, modern technology determines that there are even added healthful benefits that include improving insulin sensitivity and glucose levels, lowering the probability of having a heart disease, and helping people to lose more weight easily. It has also been verified that green tea has a high level of bioflavonoids, or flavonoids--substances that have good antioxidant properties in the body. While oxidation is normal, even necessary, antioxidants are still needed to reduce time for ageing. Oxidation is a vital mechanism in the body because it causes the cells in the body to die. This is not as bad as it sounds since the death of old cells will give way to new, stronger cells. This is very important in cell development. This is the main reason why there is physical growth and maturation. Oxidation also burns up fat, which is also an important mechanism for a human body. However, if a person is becoming mature, his or her body will now slow down in producing new cells--this is what makes oxidation somewhat of a problem. Wrinkles in the skin and the dryness of the hair are the effect of oxidation, because our body is not replenishing as quickly it was when we were young. In addition, studies have found out that green tea has polyphenols, a type of flavonoid that dramatically reduces the amount of time of cell maturation. The flavonoid compound found in green tea is called EGCg--a much potent substance tha Vitamin C and E. It is believed to be 20 times stronger than these mentioned vitamins. EGCg also helps to reduce cell damage and eventual ageing. Moreover, polyphenols in green tea also helps to increase the number of white blood cells in the body--the body's first line of defense against all kinds of infections. Having 2 cups of green tea daily is a good routine for your body. However, most doctors would recommend drinking at least 4 cups a day is ideal. You can slowly increase the amount of green tea intake to allow your body to get used to it. There is nothing to lose but everything to gain in drinking green tea.
