North India, with its rich culture, glorious past and unsurpassed natural beauty, is a haven for tourists. From natural holidays to cultural trips or archaeological tours, travelers to this part of the country are certainly spoilt for choice. No wonder then that places like Rajasthan, Agra and Delhi are among the country’s top tourist destinations. Since each state has something exciting to offer, it is not possible to see everything on one single trip. However, travelers can maximize the fun by taking up packages that offer a plethora of choices to suit every budget and taste. The Rajasthan Forts and Palaces Tour are among the most popular tours of north India, both among domestic and foreign tourists. The sun, sand and the grandeur of the numerous forts and palaces of this royal state, coupled with scenic natural beauty, make the largest state of India a favorite tourist destination. All major attractions can be covered in two weeks. Ideally one can start from Jaipur which is well-connected by rail and flight to other Indian cities. Amer fort, Jaigarh fort, Jantar Mantar, Birla Temple, City Palace and Choki Dhaani (for authentic local cuisine and a charming rustic ambience) are the major tourist attractions. Jaipur is not the only city to have awe-inspiring monuments, though. Bikaner, Udaipur, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer all have grand palaces, forts and lakes to boast of. A road trip across the state is highly recommended. For tourists seeking to cover a wider area, there is the Golden Triangle Tour. The triangle refers to Delhi-Jaipur-Agra. The capital city of Delhi was also the Mughal and Colonial capital, so it is teeming with glimpses of its rich history. From medieval monuments like Humayun’s Tomb, Qutab Minar and Red Fort, to colonial structures like the Rashtrapati Bhavan and India Gate, Delhi is a must-see for any tourist. Also there are several gardens like the Lodhi Garden and Nehru Park for nature lovers and flea markets for the shopaholics that offer great bargains. Jaipur, as mentioned above, is a tourist’s delight. Agra in Uttar Pradesh is home to Taj Mahal- one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The marble structure was a tribute by Emperor Shahjahan for his late wife Mumtaz Mahal, and is still the ultimate symbol of love. The Agra fort is also worth a visit. All in all, the Golden Triangle sure packs a punch. For wildlife enthusiasts, the Tiger Trail is a very good tour. It covers Ranthambore, Bandhavgarh, Sariska and Kanha National Parks. One not only gets to see the king of the jungle, but the tours usually include a trip to nearby cities like Jaipur and Agra too. So it’s a good mix of nature and history. Undertaking a Desert Safari in the majestic Thar Deserts of Rajasthan is a real good option for adventure loving tourist a s it gives you an opportunity to explore the mysterious villages and history of Rajasthan during the trip. These are just some of the examples of the various packages on offer. There are several other options, state-wise or based on different themes. So what are you waiting for just select a tour of your choice, pack your bags, and get set for a magnificent experience.
