Your effort to get rid of a cold sore is easy when you know these well-proven tactics. Do not be sidelined socially ever again. You can finally take control of these cold sore events.
To discover how to get rid of your cold sore, you should know a little about what you are dealing with.
Cold sores are the result of the process of replication of the herpes simplex viruses - type 1 or 2. During the creation of new clones of itself, the herpes virus destroys many nerve cells on the surface of your lip or nostril. Millions of destroyed cells make up the unsightly cold sore ulcer.
Stress, whether mental or physical, is the trigger that causes just the right conditions for the virus to come out of hibe
ation. Normally latent, the virus quickly senses this opportunity because it lives in your nerve fibers.
Stress will cause changes in your body that create these favorable conditions. These changes include hormonal changes, acid/alkaline shift, increase usage of B and C vitamins, and distracting your immune system sentries that guard the cold sore virus.
The body can and will get rid of a cold sore without any help from us. But who wants to suffer for 3 to 4 weeks, when we do not need to?
The quicker you can get rid of a cold sore, the sooner you can get on with your life. Here are some tactics that really work.
1. GIVE THE VIRUS THE COLD TREATMENT. Beginning at the first itching sensation until the cold sore actually opens up, the virus is replicating. Applying ice, or any cold item, will discourage the virus from continuing. It really works. Makes the area feel better too.
2. COLD SORE VIRUS HATES LYSINE. Lysine and arginine are the two main amino acids that play a role in cold sore virus replication. The more lysine you take, the less arginine will be stored in your cells. The virus uses arginine as a building block for new virus. If the virus does not find enough arginine in the cells, it will give up and go back into hibe
ation. Normal lysine dosage during a cold sore is 2000 to 4000 milligrams per 24-hour period.
3. WIPE OUT THE VIRUS INVASION. You will put a huge dent in the virus army by sterilizing the wound with hydrogen peroxide or alcohol. Peroxide is my favorite because it also adds extra healing oxygen. This will help you get rid of a cold sore quickly.
4. COLD SORE VIRUS LOVES ACID. The virus does very well when the body is in an acid state. Take a good vitamin and mineral supplement to help your body stay alkaline and discourage cold sores. Avoid acid foods during a cold sore - vinegar products and tomatoes.
Before I go, I would like to share with you a couple things that will further help you get rid of a cold sore.
Everyone should be taking a vitamin and mineral every single day. It helps you on so many levels, to prevent cold sores and other ailments. The minerals help maintain an alkaline body, and the B vitamins help reduce stress.
Also, a final word on the ice treatment. Ice works great if used prior to the actual ulcer. After the cold sore opens, then using warmth will get more healing blood to the area. This alone can shorten healing by 50%.
Good luck. These are just a few of the many powerful tactics proven to get rid of cold sores quickly and safely right now.
