THE PASSION OF THE CHRISTn "NOBODY KILLED ME. I AM ALIVE" n nI have seen the new movie "The Passion of the Christ" three times. I will continue to see it as long as I learn something new from watching this 2000 year old story unfold right in front of my eyes.n nThe story, which some people say never happened, may be old, but the way the metaphors are presented is quite new. The metaphors are a very important reminder of our own crucifixion which seems so real to all of us.n nWe all know about Jesus violent death. In this movie, the violence is shown in more graphic detail than I've ever seen. I do not watch the violence; I close my eyes to such scenes, and pray.n nI pray for the ending of the torture that we impose on ourselves when we listen to our primitive thought system; a voice within all of us, like the voice that shows up several times during the movie. This "voice," which some of us call ego, is presented as a female figure, and occasionally walks through the crowd totally unnoticed; only Jesus hears it, since this is his inner voice.n n"Who is your father!" Asks the voice in a calm, and sarcastic way. Jesus, of course, does not answer.n nThe voice goes on:"No one can bear the burden of our sins. No man can carry this burden. I tell you."n nA serpent, a symbol of lies about who we really are, slithered towards Jesus; it was ready to bite him, but Jesus crushed it with his mighty foot. n nTHIS EVENT SENDS A VERY POWERFUL MESSAGE TO MANKIND; CRUSH YOUR PRIMITIVE THOUGHTS, YOUR DISRUPTIVE EGO, THE INNER VOICE FOR YOUR CRUCIFIXION, AND PROCEED MAKING ALL THINGS NEW.n nThis is exactly what Jesus said to his mother when she came to comfort him on his way to the Calvary:n n"SEE, MOTHER, I MAKE ALL THINGS NEW."n nJesus, then, recovers his strength for a while. He walks straight up carrying the cross whilenMary contemplates her son in awe, ecstasy and admiration.n nThe voice is not Jewish, or Catholic, or Moslem, it encompasses all of mankind's thought system since the beginning of time and space. Its purpose is to make us see separation everywhere, in everything and in everyone: its purpose is to try and disrupt our unified mind. The voice stays within us as long as we are in the body form. The voice cradles us from birth to death, which is why the producer of this movie, Mel Gibson, presents this female figure holding a baby whose face changes from young to old.n nBE AWARE OF THIS DANGEROUS CRADLING!n nBE AWARE OF FALSE MOTHERS. WE CAN HAVE ONLY ONE TRUE MOTHER. FOR ONE TO BE TRUE, THE OTHER MUST BE FALSE.n nThe voice was implanted in us so that we can make choices while we are on earth, and learn our lessons, and accomplish our mission, which is what Jesus says at the end of the movie:n n"IT IS ACCOMPLISHED."n nHe accomplished his part of the Divine Design by not following the "voice" that tried to deceive him. All of us come to earth to fulfill our part in one way or the other. All of us choose to be deceived or not.n nThe Passion of the Christ focuses on the last few hours of Jesus presence on earth, and in the physical form. That was only the beginning of his "accomplishments."n nFor mankind, right now, more important than the handling of his physical form, is the way he handled his thoughts and still continues to do so as long as time exists.n n"YOU HAVE NO POWER OVER ME." Said Jesus to the Roman Governor. "I LAY IT DOWN OF MY OWN ACCORD." He was referring to his physical life.n nJesus' message continues to be:n n"NOBODY KILLED ME. I AM ALIVE."n nI hope the next movie will be based on this theme, and that should have still more repercussions throughout the world. It should make those of us who say "WE LOVE DEATH" go through some profound thinking and soul searching.n nIn the end, we will always be alive.n n nWritten by:nOdete Martins BigotenMarch 2004nCopyright
