A speed camera is undoubtedly an excellent traffic control unit used for capturing and photographing of violations of traffic rules and regulations. The unit is also known as a speed trap and works on the principle of lasers or radar and a very high speed infrared camera. Not to mention police personnel always takes advantage of this. In actual, this is a speed measurement device that is performed and triggered above a certain speed. A few years ago there were light flash speed cameras, but these days most are infrared flash units used so that the driver is not dazzled. Depending on the traffic on the road these monitoring devices can be distinguished between the following types: traffic lights, speed cameras, distance Blitzer, Weight Blitzer and manually triggered Blitzer which is the oldest kind of speed cameras. Based on their look and working mechanism some of the widely popular kinds of Blitzers are Gatso, Truvelo, DS2/TSS, Specs, Laser, Mini Gatso, etc.

Simply put, the speed violations caught by the Blitzers are sufficient for a ticket. These are the permanently installed mobile devices. They are commonly found as fixed boxes without any signs or contents installed for traffic control systems on the highway, on the back shelf of a car vehicle at the roadside or in a moving vehicle, hidden in bushes, in driveways, on a tripod with policemen controlling it, camouflaged as shrubbery, newspaper box, dustbin, etc. In many states, the court has accepted that the photographs captured by the Blitzer are regarded as evidence of traffic violations and are constitutionally unobjectionable.

In general, a traffic speed camera is a device that is always found on the side opposite the traffic lights; one by the induction loop is activated in the soil. And red light violations are always registered with two flashes. The first flash fires when the car rolls over the stop line, while the second one fires when the vehicle enter the protected area through the traffic light. The Distance Blitzer speed camera is a kind of device that detects vehicles with insufficient clearance. The device is primarily used on the highway, where the distance is particularly vital for security. The Weight Blitzer speed camera is a device that triggers if the weight of the car exceeds the weight limit. Additionally, manually triggered Blitzer is the device that is operated by manually triggering the flash or video surveillance. Using this method more violations are easily detected with precision such as detecting the persons who are using cell phone while driving or a passenger who is not wearing a seatbelt, and catching the bike riders without wearing helmet and many more.
