Camping is a time to build closer relationships with your loved ones or to answer the call of Mother Nature’s wild. Either way, blogging is a spectacular way to share your experiences with the world and maybe even recruit a new outdoorsman. Personally, I think there are many people who may not have been raised around nature so they shy away from it as adults but the desire is there. Your thoughts and words may strike a chord within them to give it a try! For the sake of those unfamiliar to the term “Blog”, it is a lot like a journal or diary. You don’t necessarily need to write an entry each day, but when it suits you is great. Most sites enable you to be able to post a picture with your story too. Sometimes others will choose to “follow” you and will look forward to seeing what you have to say. If this happens, you may want to be sure to post an entry more often. That’s right! Give them something to think about! You can search the internet to find someone to write your blog through. I’ve used a couple of different ones and they all seem to do the same job. Creating a profile or an account with the one you choose will be mandatory. Be prepared to spend just a couple of minutes setting things up. Most will even let you alter the theme of your page, so make it your own! Tell your story from the beginning. If you are new to the camping scene or you just bought a new RV, explain the process you just went through. Do it in one entry or in several; that is up to you. As you progress and have more experiences to add, write about them while they are still fresh in your mind. Others who have never been on a campout before may not have any family traditions so share what you do. Is there a marshmallow roast? Maybe songs by the fire at night? Fish fry on the last night at camp? Tell everyone what equipment you cannot live without in the wilderness. List the recipes you use while roughing it. All these things could be a complete stranger’s favorite reading material and a child’s most memorable times of their life. Blogs generally have a place to list “tags”, or keywords to help people find your entries. Think outside the box on these sometimes. You may attract a person searching for “trees” online because you tagged your blog with that one word. It had nothing to do with the definition of Dogwood they were looking for, but it looked interesting to them so they peeked. In the event that you want to keep it in the family, be sure to set your account to being private. That way only the people you invite to be a part of what you are doing can see it. Some prefer it that way if they are posting pictures. The choice is always yours. Think of this as a tool, a way to record your love of the outdoors for future generations or to help others find their love. You may find that it becomes a bit addictive and you look forward to sharing your experiences. Happy writing and happy camping! You can get your camping trip started by looking up an RV Dealer for your next RV vacation.
