Blood pressure problems are broadly classified into: Hypotension: Hypotension is also called low blood pressure. When the cardiovascular system fails to react to sudden changes it causes a drastic drop in the blood pressure. Hypotension is a sign of an underlying problem which is resulting in inadequate blood flow. There are no definite disorders caused due to low blood pressure but if not treated in the right time it might lead to brain damage, stroke, heart attack and kidney failure. Hypertension: Hypertension is also called high blood pressure. It is caused by cholesterol build up in the arteries which makes the lumen of artery more narrow. As the amount of resistance to blood flow increases the pressure against the blood vessels increases making them weak. Some of the disorders caused due to hypertension are kidney failure, thyroid and adrenaline gland disorders and heart disorders.
