Children are God’s gift and they bring light and happiness in a family. As future generation they need to be nurtured by elders into responsible young adults who will become their eyes and hands in times to come. Unfortunately not all children receive the same care and love which children get in families respectively. There are numerous cases where infants are left in the care of charity homes and NGOs where they lead a life totally different from being in a family. Which child doesn’t want love, care, and attention from parents? It is the people who make their lives miserable and worst from worse. Those who loose their parents or parents who leave their children lead a life of unending pain and misery. For them love and warmth are far-fetched words in dreams because the ground reality is much harsh and unbearable.

Such kind of pain and agony makes them violent and aggressive which later turns out into chronic disorders many times. Adopted children don’t get their share of peace in any part of the world except if luckily they are adopted by families which are good and kind-hearted. Comfort, food, shelter, love, care, friends and family are the most important factors for the development of any child into a normal adult. Fostered kids are always at risk, especially during their childhood, adolescence and teenage period.

Parents who adopt children should be prepared for all kinds of situations. Raising a foster child isn’t easy as they aren’t your blood relations. The hard work is to build that bond where they will look up to their family for help whenever the need arises. It is a difficult task to be accepted by children as parents but constant care and support along with love is bound to make a change in their hearts and minds at some point of time. A child psychology is rather a complex form because of being young. Understanding them is a tedious task yet not an impossible one.

The zeal to love a child by parents is always strong, as its said a sapling bears fruit only when it becomes a tree; so is the case with children. There are lots of important things which need to be kept in mind when parenting a foster kid or kids. Sensitivity, responsiveness, comprehending their actions and movements, sharing experiences and creating a sense of security and safety are some of the vital factors which must be fulfilled at all costs in order create a space in their lives. Commitment to care for such a child is very important because it helps them understand the importance of a certain person in their life.

Children understand who is caring for them because of their needs and thinking, they can easily judge by other person’s actions and behavior whether they care for them or not in reality. As adopted kids children tend to experience pain and agony right from the start which makes them immune to abuses and maltreatment due to which they never are able to accept anyone close to them. Such a treatment from charity homes makes them miserable and whenever any family tries to get close to anyone of them rejection is a clear result in the first place. Thus it’s important for parents to be prepared to play any role in order to be accepted by them as their parents. ‘As you sow so shall you reap’ is a fitting proverb to end this discussion where fostered children are the main issue of concern.
