On Xbox One X, the framerate drops into the 50s in combat, only ever sticking to the target 60fps in less feverish moments. More interestingly, the frame-time pacing is off, together with stutters and other inconsistencies. PS4 Pro suffers from exactly the same problems, even though it appears to have more severe drops in framerate as a result of its weaker CPU compared to Xbox One X. This lack of consistency is what finally drove Digital Foundry to recommend players stick to resolution mode.rnTo this end, Xbox One X holds a near-locked 30fps in resolution style in 1800p. PS4 Guru, on the other hand, suffers drops at the 20s occasionally. It is a disappointing state of affairs, particularly coming off the excellent Gears 5, yet another Unreal Engine 4 match with much better results on both the foundation and enhanced consoles, albeit clearly just on Xbox. Specifically, players are reporting a stutter from the PlayStation 4 Guru's performance style, which is assumed to provide you a more 60fps experience. However, this stutter seems widespread across platforms and modes. There's a lot of lag, too, especially when playing split-screen couch co-op and a single player goes in their ECHOdevice during heavy battle.
