Botox:How it is Most Exciting Cosmetic

No doubt, the fastest growing non-surgical cosmetic procedure is Botox injections, with over 1.3 million used alone last year. Exotoxin type A or Botox Cosmetic ®, marketed by Allergan Inc., Irvine, CA, is produced, perhaps surprisingly, by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, the cause of botulism.

Although researchers have shown that the skin wrinkles in the aging face is clearly related to the cumulative effects of excessive sunexposure, smoking, loss of volume, and gravity, facial expression and animation, known as dynamic wrinkles, also plays an important role in the development of many types of neck and fine lines and wrinkles. By binding at the junction between nerve and muscle, Botox effectively blocks the release of acetylcholine, the chemical responsible for normal muscle contraction, which weakens the ability of certain facial muscles that cause fine lines, wrinkles, folds and furrows through their repeated use.

Botox is an excellent safety record in humans. Since late 1970, has been used to treat muscle abnormalities associated with some tics, vocal cord problems and eye abnormalities. In over twenty five years since its introduction and approval by the FDA for these indications, has continued to demonstrate not only safe but reliable in millions of injections.

The use of Botox cosmetic products

Although other procedures such as laser resurfacing, dermabrasion and chemical peel treated wrinkled skin especially at rest, is considered a Botox treatment of choice for movement-related wrinkles. Although initially used only to treat the lines called "frown" (frown) between the eyes, Botox is a highly effective treatment of a wide range of facial lines and furrows and neck. Many improvements can be seen in the horizontal "worry" lines of the forehead and "crow's feet" lines of pages of the eyes, which in many cases, treatment can be removed completely.
