The breed of dog you have will significantly influence the type of training that will be most effective when embarking on a training regiment for your beloved pet. Asserting your dominance over the dog and establishing yourself as the leader is critical in making sure your dog is well behaved and listens to commands when given. By training your dog, they learn not to excrete in the house, not to chew on things other than their chew toys, as well to not jump on you or others that walk into your home, and any number of other things that lay under the heading of bad manners. Patience will always be the key when training this breed of dog. A good time to begin training your boxer is as early as 6 weeks old; if you start at this age they will be able to grow up properly just be sure to teach the dog as well as play with him and socialize him so that he remains interested.
