In present times, physical beauty is of paramount importance for most women. Toned legs, shapely hips and proportionate breasts are some of the elements that define physical beauty for women. Some women are of the opinion that their breasts may be inadequate or improperly contoured. For such women, breast surgery may be the perfect solution to their woes.rnBreast surgery can be used to provide balance, size increase or contour correction in a woman’s breast region. Since the 1960’s, breast implants have also been used to great success by women all over who are not satisfied with their original breast size. rnFor breast surgery to have the desired effect, it is crucial to have a lengthy discussion with your operating surgeon on how you wish your breasts to look after the surgery. For instance, size of breasts, shape of the breast, cleavage size and even nipple adjustments are some of the key areas that can be improved while undergoing breast surgery. Let’s talk a little more about what a breast surgery really is. Breast implants are basically silicone rubber shells that are filled with either silicone gel or saline, a saltwater solution. Both kinds of implants have their own respective pros and cons. For instance, the saline type has a more natural appeal and also has a more natural movement, which is known as “shimmy effect”. It can also be inserted using a very small incision, thereby reducing the risk of scarring. Types Of Breast Enlargement TechniquesrnThere are several types of approaches to breast surgery or enlargement. Firstly, there’s the under the breast or inframammary procedure, which is one of the most popular methods of breast enlargement. The incision is made adjacent to the inframammary crease and is the most direct route with the least operative time required. Another common method of enlargement that is popularly followed during breast surgery is the around the nipple or periareolar technique. This technique calls for the incision to be made within the pigmented areolar tissue. This approach has the most inconspicuous scarring, which is why it is favoured by many patients. The Transaxillary or Under the Arm method occurs when the incisions are placed in the axilla, thereby preventing any sort of scarring on the breast. However, the pitfalls of this method are that the scar may be visible when the woman wears sleeveless tops and lifts her arms. Finally, there’s the Transumbilical technique or the ‘Through the Belly Button’ method. It is also known as TUBA (transumbilical breast augmentation) and it calls for the placement of implants through the belly button or the umbilicus. However, this approach may only be used if saline implants are being inserted. rnThese are some of the popular methods of breast enlargement. Since all of them require breast surgery in varying degrees, it is important to ensure that you only choose the methods that suit you best. At the same time, make sure your doctor is well qualified to handle your case, otherwise the results could be catastrophic.
