Kerala the Gods own country has a rich cultural heritage of centuries. People of different cast, creed and religions live in harmony here. The advancement of technology has made a tremendous impact on the lifestyle of people but the traditional heritage still stands unshattered. Wedding can be said as one of the most special occasion in one’s life. Every girl will look the most beautiful in wedding day. Wedding is not just a ritual or an occasion here, in Kerala wedding is a festival. People here love dresses and during marriage the shopping will be a never ending thing. There are three main religions in Kerala namely Hindus, Muslims and Christians. Let’s now take a look of the bridal dresses choosed by people in Kerala.

• Hindus
Hindu brides generally wear a sari and lot of jewelry. Saries are considered as the traditional clothing in India. Although Lehenga and others have replaced sari in the northern parts, in south India Sari is the ultimate bridal wear. Kanjipuram and Benares saries are the two types of saries which are most popular here. The shiny silk saries weaved by the finest weavers of kanjipuram can catch any ones attraction. Kanjipuram saries are world famous and are even showcased in the fashion shows in Milan and Paris. Peacock blue, magenta, and golden color saries are the most popular ones used as bridal wear.

• Muslims
Muslims have been in the country for centuries. Many of them were converted from Hinduism. Their beliefs have changed but not their culture. The main attraction of the Muslim marriages is the Food. Various recipes made by the top class sheaf’s can bring water to anyone’s mouth. Like the Hindu marriages, saries are inevitable in Muslim marriages. Muslim marriages are called “nikkah”. Bright colors with lot of artwork are preferred in Muslim marriages. In some parts “lehanga “is also been used but the most common is silk saries.

• Christians
Kerala has the most population of Christians in the country. Christian weddings are the most different among all these. Christian wedding are inspired by the European style except for the kiss thing. The bride normally wears a white gown and her face will be covered with transparent veils. Girls dressed in there mesmerizing dresses will look more graceful than even angels. Nowadays stylish designer gowns have gained popularity among many.
