One of the main aims of most yoga instructors, whether they are teaching yoga for stretching and relaxation or yoga for muscle building and calorie burning, is to help their students increase their overall sense of health and wellness—hopefully on both the mental and physical levels. These days, there seems to be nearly as many types of yoga as there are instructors, and more and more people are turning to yoga classes to achieve personal well-being. For one student, that may mean a quieting of the mind through yoga. For another, it may mean a more flexible body and graceful movement.
