If you are planning a stay in Buenos Aires, you will find that there are literally hundreds of apartments to let, as well as hotels ranging from very moderately priced but decent accommodation right up to the most luxurious converted colonial houses in peaceful garden areas to penthouses right at the hub of city life with amazing views of the city lights of Buenos Aires. Buenos Aires is a busy, cosmopolitan, exciting city. There is more to do here than you can ever hope to cover in just one holiday. These are a few of the ‘must see’ highlights: ·If you take a three hour guided tour of the city, you will get a good overview, and you can go back later on your own to parts that particularly interested you. Places that visitors frequently like to go back and explore properly are the centre of the city and particularly the classy shops in Florida Street. The area of Palermo Viejo is buzzing, exciting and young. A beautiful park to relax in is San Martin. ·In the evening take a night tour of Buenos Aires. See the lights reflected on the water along the bustling water front. The more beautiful and important buildings are lit up with spotlights. Your night tour will give you a sense of the vibrancy and aliveness of Buenos Aires’ people who come out to play and lighten up after their day at work. ·If you enjoy the theatre or opera, concerts or ballet, you cannot miss a performance at the Teatro Colon. This, the main theatre in Buenos Aires, is considered to have acoustics that rank among the five best concert venues in the world. You can check online at their website to see what is currently being performed. ·Have a wonderful dinner with international or gourmet traditional cuisine at one of the famous Tango clubs. Remember, that Argentina being one of the great cattle breeding counties, you will taste the best beef steaks in the world. Some Tango clubs even give lessons and demonstrations, and others give you value in a splendid live show, with spectacular tango performances. ·If Tango is as fascinating to you as to most tourists, try San Telmo, a weekend fair where you will see tango dancers and other performers in the streets, as well as an arts and crafts market and a vibrant atmosphere. On Sundays you will see many antique fairs and markets to browse through. Many residents and visitors spend the hot, sunny weekends at the Tigre and Parana River Delta. Here is a mass of rivers, waterways, canals and islands. You can explore them in a variety of different craft, take part in most types of water sports, fish, or just relax and watch the buzz. The Delta is just off the northern suburbs of the city, and the best way to reach it is on the Tren de la Costa (the Riverside train). This short trip winds along the coastline and gives you the best views.
