Pay attention - you don’t just listen, you concentrate. Your friends will notice if you do not give your full attention to them while they're expressing their sadness. Whenever they will ask your opinion and you missed out on some very important details, they will feel frustrated or even lose their trust on you.

Affirm positively - negative words or thoughts create negative feelings. If you find yourself full of negative vibes, nobody would choose to be around you. This is simply not an effective way of making a relationship.

It is not who is speaking but what is being said - comprehend the problem. Never allow your beliefs and your indifference with the person affect your interpretation of the situation. Focus on the problem itself. You have to help regardless of whether you like the person or not. Don't let yourself be bias. This is how you build lasting relationship. Love the unlovable.
