It can be difficult sometimes to prove a business case for HR software, particularly if employers are sceptical of its benefits. However, HR software can prove invaluable not only to the HR function but also in how it can contribute to the strategic aims of a company and so writing a compelling business case for HR and payroll solutions can reap rewards and secure a company’s future success even in a tough economic climate.
The first step to implementing new HR software and convincing decision makers that it is required is to look at the existing HR function and see where improvements need to be made. With time consuming tasks such as payroll, it is important to look at not only the amount of time spent by employees on processing payroll but all the other actions associated with it, such as keeping employee data up to date and easily accessible, maintaining accuracy when processing payroll across different employee roles and shift patterns, and so on.
Outlining the current process and its limitations to the board, along with how much each step costs the company in terms of time and money, can build a compelling case for change. HR software can be bespoke to your specific company needs too, which means the right software could answer a lot of your headaches and save the company time and therefore money, increasing profits. Remember that not all benefits to the company will be monetary and thus there will be improvements in terms of morale within the organisation and the wider reputation of the business with an up to date software system.
Here at NorthgateArinso, we can work with HR functions to help build a case to secure a new HR system for a business. Integrating a new HR software system with the company’s wider strategic aims is essential to convincing others in the business that the new technology is required.
