Recently, Mr. Shawn, an older driver, always felt painful in his lower back. When urinating, he felt tingling sometimes, accompanied by fever and fatigue, which frightened him. After the examination, he was diagnosed with prostatitis. In reality, the occurrence of prostatitis is significantly correlated with some sedentary occupations. Sitting for long periods of time slows the blood circulation, especially to the perineum. What's more, sitting for long periods of time can cause direct pressure on the prostate gland, leading to hyperemia. This behavior can make the local metabolite accumulated, leading to the obstruction of the glands in the prostate and making the prostatic fluid more difficult to be discharged, thus leading to prostatitis over time. Usually, sitting for too long can lead to prostatitis, especially for the long-distance bus drivers. The recent survey confirmed a significant increase in the incidence of prostatitis from sedentary workers, long-distance cycling people to professional drivers. Among the 318 cases of patients with chronic prostatitis, bus drivers account for 28.9% of the total, and office workers account for 46.9%. The etiology may be related to the following aspects: 1.Sit for long periods of time, and the prostate gland is congested as well. 2.It may be the hot and cold stimulation. In summer, the stuffy condition can make the perineum humid for a long time, which tends to aggravate the congestion in the prostate gland. And the cold can also stimulate the prostate gland to contract in winter. 3.Due to the bad eating habits caused by the busy work tasks, many male friends often eat less healthy food and always eat in a hurry. As time goes by, their body resistance will drop down, making them easy to get infected. Beware of some risk factors. Sitting for a long time means you may hold back the urine at the same time, which is very common among bus drivers. For the occurrence of prostatitis, holding back urine is an important risk factor. As a result, it is suggested that long-distance bus drivers, taxi drivers, service staff at window, office workers and other people should not develop the habit of holding back urine, and they need to try to urinate in time. What's more, staying up late, drinking alcohol, eating too many spicy foods and unhealthy sexual life are also high risk factors for prostatitis, which should be avoided as far as possible. What they should do is to keep good living habits, such as drinking more water, having sufficient sleep time, keeping good mood, eating light and healthy food, doing more exercise and so on. When suffering from the prostatitis, don't panic and please get treated in time. Usually, chemical medicine like antibiotics can be taken to treat acute prostatitis. Meanwhile, the chronic prostatitis can usually be effectively treated by the herbal medicine Diuretic and Anti-inflammatory Pill, which features great effects on dispelling inflammations, improving the blood circulation and removing painful symptoms. For bus drivers, what should they do to better improve and prevent the prostatitis when they are working? First of all, while avoiding sitting for too long, you should go to the toilet as needed. Once the bladder is full and you want to urinate, you should do it in time. At the same time, you should eat light foods and some things rich in lycopene and zinc, which can help you to prevent the prostate hyperplasia. In addition, you should choose the seat material with moderate hardness. A too hard seat can increase the pressure on pelvic organs, while a too soft seat can cause the man's hip to sink in totally, which can also increase the pressure on pelvic organs, according to the doctors.
