Business success CAN be yours

Business success CAN be yours, but it is your personal responsibility. There is a saying… “If it is to be, then it is up to me” Success in business is not an accident or luck… It is a choice! So many people look at the doctor, the lawyer practise or the restaurant owner and think “look at the lucky SOB, he’s got everything”. But remember, with few exceptions, everyone begins at the same starting line. Getting ahead, doesn’t just happen. They weren’t just lucky. They were committed and prepared! They learned from their experiences and seized their opportunities. Opportunity does no one any good if, when it comes knocking, we choose to NOT answer the door. No Excuses- No Blame- No Pity pot- We determine our own successes through our efforts and the adjustments we do, or do not make, along the way. We can’t choose our past, we can’t change the decisions that brought us here… but we can change the choices that create our future. Right now, today, we can make better choices that make for a better tomorrow. You may say, “Ok Calvin, I have changed my attitude, I’m all motivated, my engines are revving, but HOW do I get RESULTS!” ANSWER: CHANGE YOUR BELIEF and it WILL change your RESULTS. Maybe not instantly, but over a period of a year or two, you will see dramatic improvement in your business, both in terms of sales and profits (focus on profits…size and turnover is vanity). BELIEF: WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE?rnThe best and most personal example I can give is myself. I am not currently in the same league with Mark Zuckerberg. But I plan on rectifying that! (How’s that for attitude). I believe in myself, my abilities and that I was not born not to be a good, but a GREAT business person. I believe it so much that you would have noticed that I do not call myself Calvin Dorman, but CalvinBusiness. (How’s that for focus?) I am not saying you should change your name, but I am saying that you must have a 100% BELIEF in yourself – NOT 99,9%. Leave no room for self-doubt. Attitudes and Beliefs ALWAYS manifest themselves in actions and choices. We are all the sum total of the actions and choices that we have made up to this point in our lives. If you are not satisfied with every aspect of your life, it is because attitudes and beliefs have motivated you to make choices and decisions that led you to where you are. Within reason, if you, in anyway are less than satisfied with your business successes life, you can change it. It’s all in your hands and it’s all a matter of choice. Realize no matter where you came from, no matter where you are, right now, today you can start making choices and decisions that can dramatically improve your income and your future. But it requires more than just reading and “knowing” these truths, it requires internalizing them so that they are a part of you. You will notice that business people who believe in themselves will radiate confidence. They are easily motivated and can apply self-motivation. Motivation is literally the desire to do things. It’s the difference between waking up before dawn to pound the pavement and lazing around the house all day. It’s the crucial element in setting and attaining goals. Confidant business people who show results in their business, always seem to attract quality clients as people are inspired when they are in their presence. So gentle reader, figure out what you want, power through the pain period, and start being who you want to be. Change your BELIEF and it will change your destiny.
