Many dog owners are aware of the health dangers of their dogs eating too fast. Unfortunately, these dog owners only found a very limited choice of dog feeders which would modify their dog's behavior, and which are also attractive and stylish.

Eating too fast may be harmful to some dogs. It may cause choking, vomiting, even bloat, also know as GDV - gastric dilatation volvulus, which is a very serious condition, sometimes fatal. Usually older and larger dogs, dogs with deep, narrow chests may be prone to this medical condition.

Feeding a dog from an elevated dog feeder will help from gulping his/her food. Feeding him/her from a raised dog feeder outfitted with a "slow feed" stainless steel type dog bowl will even be more efficient. The dome in the middle of the dog bowl forces the dog to slow down, making him/her to chew the food rather than gulping it. The food's nutrients will also get absorbed much better in the dog's system.

The combination of an elevated dog feeder and a "slow feed" dog bowl is a great idea for all dogs who tend to "vacuum" their food.
Many dog owners have noticed the difference when they switched from a floor level dog bowl to an elevated dog feeder.

Stainless steel dog bowls are also are the most healthy choice for all dogs. Stainless steel has been the material of choice for food processing, dairy and brewery industries. It is durable, sanitary, rust-free, and non-leaching. Such bowls will last a lifetime.

Their are a great alte
ative to plastic dog bowls since some dogs become allergic to plastic, and develop skin irritations. Plastic being porous, can also trap dirt, odors and germs, which even your dishwasher will not be able to eliminate.

Any elevated dog feeder will help keep the food and water within the bowl, instead of on the floor. In order to facilitate swallowing, dogs tend to lift their heads after eating or drinking. As the dog raises his head, the water that doesn't get swallowed will spill onto the floor.

Our Black Labrador, Bird used to spill so much water all over our kitchen floors before giving him an elevated feeder, that the joke around the house was that in a way, we had the cleanest floors in town since we had to wipe them off so often…But with his raised dog feeder, he does not need to lift his head so much, and the water drips right back into the water bowl.

Now doggie dining can be healthy and stylish!
