Maybe you’re looking for a new job or career. Maybe you have a strong need or desire to work from home for more flexibility and free time. Maybe you want an alte
ative to corporate life so you can work for and answer to no one but yourself. Whatever your reasons, a home-based business could be your ticket to wealth and happiness.
According to Forbes, home-based businesses will have 79 million new customers within the next 3-5 years. What are all these people buying? Anything from beauty and health products to professional services to vacation packages to conferences.
Some of these companies have multi-level marketing structures, usually requiring you to sell large volumes of low-priced products and then sharing the commissions with members in your group. Others are top-tier direct sales companies with high-end, higher priced products. In those companies, only one person receives commissions on each sale, making earnings per sale much higher.
Starting anything new in life—a business, a relationship, an education—requires thought, investigation and commitment. All of that will reduce stress and improve clarity so that you can make the best informed decision for your own wealth and happiness. Before you quit your job or invest a lot of money into a home-based business, ask yourself these questions:
- What industries and products interest you?
- What are your income needs and desires?
- How many hours per day are you willing to work?
- How would your life change with a home-based business?
- Do you have good people and marketing skills?
- Are you ready to make a change in your life?
- How much money can you invest?
- How much time can you survive without an income?
In any business, the company and products are just as important as the marketing system that tells people about the company. If you are going to be marketing on the Internet, you’ll need to learn the ins and outs of Internet marketing to be successful. If you’re going to be marketing to friends and family, you’ll need to be comfortable doing that.
Lastly, beware of promises that seem too good to be true—they probably are! While you could achieve success and wealth from a home-based business, it usually takes a lot of time and work to make it happen. n
