Can a human being create his own happiness or do external factors need to be needed?

No, there is neither a need to create one’s own happiness, nor are the external factors needed for the same. Our very own Self, the real self itself, by nature, is an abode of infinite bliss! So, we just have to realize the Self i.e. attain Self-Realization to attain happiness that is real and permanent, the eternal happiness! That enlightenment itself gives great happiness.rnWe realize, ‘I am Pure Soul, which by nature is an abode of eternal bliss!’ So, naturally it’s bound to keep you happy!rnWe understand, ‘who is the real Doer in this world, how this world actually runs.’ With this right understanding, all worries, stress, tension, fear, fatigue, etc. vanish. So, you are a happy person then ☺ Owing to the separation done by Gnani during Self-Realization, we are able to remain unaffected by the external factors, even amidst adverse circumstances. This magical experience is what lures us towards ultimate liberation, and takes us to the last station of ultimate happiness! All the inner weaknesses namely anger, pride, greed, deceit begin to decrease as the awareness of the real Self increases. No anger means happiness; when false pride destroys, it leads to further happiness; as deceit leaves, fountains of happiness spring; and with the total exit of greed, permanent happiness ushers in.
