The kind of books we read essentially depends upon what we want to extract from our life. And ‘spiritual books’ is one of the important sources that help us evolve as a human being in the spiritual realm! They are one of the best ways to gain spiritual knowledge, real wisdom and right vision. Spiritual books give us the right understanding vis-à-vis the painful worldly understanding we are surrounded with currently, and they offer us the right vision to lead life in a really happy way! It is very much advantageous and helpful to read these books as we get to imbibe a new perspective towards our inner world. Spiritual books gradually transform us and our view points, changing all of it towards the positive as we learn to remain more and more unbiased towards our personal beliefs. Reading these books clarifies a lot of our doubts about our real existence, and reveals the real reasons why we face difficult situations in life and the solutions of how to come out of these difficulties. It makes us more relaxed and calm in our approach to worldly life. For one who wants to grow spiritually, there are many books available in the market; and one of my favourite are those from Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan (freely available at https://www.dadabhagwan.org), for they are simple, very practical and truly life-transforming! Having said that, to answer the question asked by you… CAN A PERSON BE SPIRITUAL BY READING SPIRITUAL BOOKS?rnLet us understand this with the help of an example. Suppose you are reading a book that gives one of the best explanations of the candle and its light, and displays the most exact and precise picture of the candle. Will this candle give you light? Will you be able to light your candle with the description of the candle given in the book? No! You need a lit candle to do that, isn’t it?! Likewise, you need the Living Gnani (the Enlightened One) to enlighten your Soul! INDIRECT LIGHT VERSUS DIRECT LIGHT OF SPIRITUALITYrnThe end objective of spirituality is to attain the ultimate experience of the Soul. rnSpiritual books provide good information regarding the Soul. They explain in great detail what is Soul, what are the properties of Soul, how does the Soul look like, how does it function, what is its role in our life, etc. And from these very books, we also learn that in order to experience the Soul, we all require a Living Gnani who has the divine power to enlighten others’ Souls. Spirituality is where you discover your real Self that “I am a Pure Soul”. And this is possible only by meeting the Enlightened One, who can bless you with the special vision to see the world in new / real light. rnThe books to an extent can explain the spiritual science the Enlightened One is imparting to us, but the presence of the Living Enlightened One is what it takes to experience that science within us. GNANI IS MY OWN SOUL!!!rnSo whoever wants to be spiritual, it is important: ●You seek the company of Gnani, for in His revered company, one automatically forgets the world. ●You come in the shelter of Gnani, for in his coveted shelter, one’s Soul is automatically protected. ●You worship Gnani with all love and faith, for by worshipping Gnani, we are worshipping our own Soul.rnSpiritual books do inspire us to aspire spirituality. However, it is Gnani Purush who holds our hand and makes us attain that spirituality. Spiritual books guide us through words, whereas Gnani, through His divine spiritual powers, directly makes us experience those words. Just by remaining faithful to Gnani, our spiritual understanding flowers, the veils of ignorance lying on our Soul begin to drop and our awareness of the Soul increases day after day – such is the value of Gnani on the spiritual path! So, to conclude, while spiritual books are like the indirect light to ultimate Truth, Gnani Purush is the direct light for ultimate liberation. Reading spiritual books can definitely inspire a person to be spiritual, but to actually be spiritual in the real meaning of the word, just go to the Living Gnani, the Enlightened One!!! Best wishes that may you reach there soon… To know more please visit https://www.dadabhagwan.org/spiritual-masters/pujya-deepakbhai/the-hidden-jewel/
