Anything in the vitamin B family can help a great deal if you are trying to prevent hair loss naturally approach and among the different B vitamins the most important for the health of the hair is the vitamin B7, commonly called biotin.
Importance of Biotin:
  • Helps regulate the functions of the sebaceous glands
  • Helps in the synthesis of Keratin, the fundamental protein component of the hair

Biotin is found in several foods such as carrots, liver, yeast and bananas and is important for the synthesis of not only of keratin but also fatty acids, glucose and also some important amino acids. It helps to regulate the biochemical processes by which cells metabolize nutrients which help control blood sugar levels. In fact if you do not get enough biotin you can eventually lose out on your eyelashes, eyebrows, and hair.
Biotin levels are on the lower side in athletes, the elderly, those who follow poor diet and pregnant and nursing mothers who have reduced levels of biotin because of the increased demand of vitamins from the body. Also people with metabolic disorders like alcoholics are known to have lower levels of biotin than in the general population.
If biotin does not curb the hair loss problem, then the alternate solution would seem to be a hair transplant
Hair transplant is not a costly surgery. There are numbers of experienced hair doctors who provide hair transplant in Delhi and the NCR region through various techniques like FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction), FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) and DHT (Direct Hair Transplantation). The hair transplant cost in Delhi depends on the number of hair grafts, the techniques implemented and hair transplant doctor.
Symptoms of biotin deficiency are:
  • Hair loss
  • Decreased appetite
  • Dermatitis
  • Red rashes
  • Scaly skin of the face and genitals

The fact that its deficiency can contribute to hair loss and that its supplementation improves hair health are enough evidences to support the uses of this vitamin as a hair loss remedy. That reason alone should be reason enough to get enough biotin in your diet, whether through diet or supplements, you need to
keep the levels of biotin high in your body. Biotin is a crucial component of skin cells and you should keep in mind the fact that healthy skin cells play a major role in the health of hair follicles as well. Getting a proper nutrition is crucial to proper hair growth.
Biotin has the following effects on the body:
  • Allows the conversion of protein into hair shafts
  • Helps metabolism of fats and cell growth
  • Promotes fast hair regrowth

Other natural sources of biotin are cauliflowers, whole grains, soya bean, black eyed peas, mushrooms, sardines, cooked eggs and raw egg yolks.
Hair loss may decrease with the proper intake of biotin but if the amount of DHT, the male hormone enemy of your hair is excess in your scalp, then you should take steps to deactivate naturally the effect of this hormone in your hair. Moreover, if the micro blood circulation to your hair follicles is poor, then it is pretty much useless to increase your intake of biotin and other vitamins as they will not be able to reach the hair follicles.
Biotin in high volumes can help improve the body’s metabolism and energy processing, but this does not lead to immediate weight reduction, but over time it can may make digestion more efficient and a a result people tend to be less likely to overeat. Biotin is also said to be able to stabilize blood glucose which prevents fat storage in the body.
Also, biotin and other B complex vitamins and vitamin C are water soluble, so it is imperative that you drink a lot of water.
