Its amazing how the modern media promotes diets programs, pills and all sorts of "products" to make us lose weight. What even more startling is just how many people are buying into it. While these pills and potions can work, it only makes you dependent on them and I don't know about you but I don't want to be drinking diet pills for the rest of my life. When you step back from all the hype that surrounds weight loss products and you look at the most fundamental way to slim down and lose fat, then it comes down to 2 very easy steps. Firstly, you have to eat sensibly. You don't need to live on half a leaf a day to drop the pounds, but what you do need is a sensible and consistent eating plan that's healthy. Secondly, and this is the most important, is exercise. Even a horrible diet can be compensated for by regular exercise. What's the best way to get this exercise? Running! Well, maybe not just running but moving is very important. Running and walking are the most natural movements for the human body and that's exactly why its so good for weight loss. Losing weight can be tough if you are out of shape and its one of the reasons why I recommend a treadmill. Treadmills are great because it allows you to get your exercise in the comfort of your own home. You can do it when you want and for as long as you want and the fact that you don't even have to leave your TV makes it ideal. Another more important reason is that treadmills can greatly reduce the impact on your body. A steady and controlled environment combines with advanced shock absorption means that even if you are overweight you can start doing it - pain free.
