Yes you can but its not the way you might think. Performing endless repetitions of crunches and sit-ups will not help when it comes to getting a six-pack. Exercise science tells us that when we burn fat it comes from an overall supply of the body’s fat tissue opposed to one particular site. This however doesn’t mean we cannot spot reduce fat. It is very possible to spot reduce body fat; we just have to take a very different approach to it. Science shows us that hormones dictate where we will end up storing body fat. For example belly fat is a sign that your cortisol levels are too high. If you find that you tend to store most of your fat around your hips and thighs then this is likely to be because your estrogen levels are out of whack. Whatever the issue is, more than likely it will be caused by a hormonal imbalance of some sort.rnLets take a further look at these 2 issues and what to do about them. Belly fat; as I mentioned earlier belly fat is a sign that your cortisol levels are too high, so doing endless amounts of crunches and sit ups are not going to do a damn thing. Cortisol is your flight or fight hormone, which will be elevated due to high levels of stress. Stress can show up in many different forms. You may suffer from day to day work pressures, you may not get adequate sleep at night which will not allow your hormones to rebalance after a hard days work or it may even be a food allergy that is putting stresses onto your body. rnBelly fat removal protocol rn1- Quit your job! I am kidding. rn2- Make sure you get at least 8 hours sleep making sure you get to bed by 10.30pm at the latest on at least 5 days of the week. rn3- Supplement with a good quality fish oil and magnesium rn4- Cut out the 4 white devils; all sugars, flour, pasteurized dairy and processed salt. rn5- Try and relax and remember not to take things too seriously rn6- Focus on doing things you enjoy and do them everyday rnHip and Thigh fat – Pre-menopausal woman tend to suffer a little more in this area. Estrogen dominance is often caused by low levels of progesterone. Both estrogen and progesterone work to balance each other out however when you are pre-menopausal your progesterone takes a dive because you stop ovulating. If you don’t fall into the category of premenopausal but you still find that you suffer from excess fat around the hips, it may be because of all the estrogenic products you’re consuming. Hip and thigh fat removal protocol rn1- Lift weights; focus on full body workouts with functional exercises at least 3 days per week.rn2- Avoid plastic; the more flexible the plastic the more estrogens it will have in it. Store food in glass containers and don’t drink out of plastic water bottles. rn3- Supplement with a good fish oil, DIM, calcium d-glucarate and fibre rn4- Eat lots of cruciferous vegetables and avoid soy and soy-based products at all costs. So if you’re a guy suffering from too much belly fat or a woman that cannot shift the thigh fat, give these protocols a try for the next 21 days and see the difference you can make to your body fat levels. Always consult your physician before starting a fitness or supplement program.
