Yes, absolutely. At the very least, a high five-figure annual income is certainly an attainable goal for an individual blogging full-time from home. But if you're just starting out with blogging then don't quit your day job just yet. Do it during your spare time say during office breaks or when you're at home and have a few minutes to spare. More and more people are finding that blogging is a profitable online medium. Whether it be to earn a few extra dollars a week to pay some of their bills, or making enough money to get through college, or to the point where they are able to make a full time living from it. The fact is there are thousands of bloggers who make money from blogging. One of the simplest ways of making money from blogging is displaying ads on the blog (Google adsense, Kontera, etc.) and when a visitor clicks on the ad, the blogger earns money. Important Things to remember in BloggingPassion for your niche If you're planning to start a blog or if you already have one, it is important that you blog about something you’re passionate about because if you are not passionate about your topic, you are not going to stick to it. The best way to decide what to blog about is to ask yourself, "Would I do this for free?" if the answer is yes, then you're on the right track and you have found your topic or niche. Post frequency If you’re going to decide to update your blog once per day or whatever frequency you choose (Example: twice a week), you must stick to it as nothing turns off a visitor more than a blog that is seldom updated. It is highly recommended that you update your blog once a day though. Updating daily encourages readers or visitors to check your blog everyday and it adds value to your blog. Think of a post as an investment. It all adds up in the long run and before you know it, more visitors are finding their way into your blog because of the tons of posts you have made in the past. The more visitors you have, the higher the revenue. Interact with readers A blog is not a one-way street so try to participate in the comments section of your blog posts. Your readers will feel as if you're interested in what they have to say. You might learn something new and you'll also increase the comment count on your blog. This is what turns visitors into readers, and readers into commentators. Why is comment count important? One, is that it increases the perceived value of your blog. Two, once visitors begin interacting with you they turn into loyal readers, which will steadily grow your readership and again, the more visitors you have, the higher the revenue. Know How to Brand Yourself Branding will separate your blog from the rest of the pack. You must have the ability to promote and brand yourself. Very few blogs have ever gotten big without some kind of press coverage. You can turn any coverage into brand building material. Branding is also one of the reasons why you should get your own domain name instead of going with a free service like Blogspot or the free WordPress.
